  • In 1967 - She was born in Sydney, Australia

  • In 1983 - Kidman began her acting career in Australia with the Bush Christmas.

  • In 1989 - Her breakthrough came with the thriller Dead Calm and the television miniseries Bangkok Hilton.

  • In 1990 - she made her Hollywood debut in the racing film Days of Thunder.

  • In 1990 - She married Tom Cruise for 11 years.

  • In 1992 - She went on to achieve wide recognition with leading roles in the romantic drama Far and Away

  • In 1995 - the superhero film  Batman Forever, and  the crime comedy-drama To Die For . 

  • In 1999 - the erotic thriller Eyes Wide Shut 

  • In 2001 - She made horror-thriller The Other.

  • In 2003 - The epic war drama film Cold Mountain .

  • Between 1994 to 2006 - Kidman has been a Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF .

  • In 2006 - Kidman was made a Companion in the Order of Australia 

  • In  2012 - The thriller  The Paperboy

  • In 2016 - Kidman earned a fourth Oscar nomination for playing a troubled mother in the biopic Lion

Achievements

  • Nicole participated in film Far and Away,Batman Foreverand To Die For, for which she won a Golden Globe Award.

  • She received two consecutive Academy Award for Best Actress nominations for playing a courtesan in the musical Moulin Rouge in 2001

  • She received Golden Globes for film The Hours .

  • she achieved critical acclaim for roles in independent films, including the dramas Dogville in 2003, Birth in 2004, and  Rabbit hole in 2010, for which she received a third Best Actress Oscar nomination.

  • She returned to television in 2017 with a highly acclaimed performance as a victim of domestic abuse in the HBO , miniseries, Big Little Lies. For which  Award she received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination.

  • Kidman has  dual citizenship in Australia and the United States.
